Eight prominent pharma companies headquartered in Tamil Nadu have been honoured with the 'Brand Impact Awards 2025' at the inaugural ceremony of the pharmaceutical expo, Pharmac South, held last week in Chennai.

These awards, instituted by the Tamil Nadu IDMA (Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association) from this year onwards in partnership with Pronto Consult, recognize brands that have demonstrated exceptional performance and influence in the market.

The recognized companies and their products are, Apex Laboratories for their product ‘P-650’, Eysys Pharmaceuticals for ‘Glisimet’, Fourrts India Laboratories Ltd for ‘Fourts B’ and ‘Pulmoclear’, Icon Life Sciences for ‘Homin’, Linux Laboratories for ‘Ignicar’, Medopharm for ‘Medomol’, Sai Mirra Innopharm Ltd for ‘B-Active’, and Stedman Pharmaceuticals for ‘Drez’.

The performances of the brands and the promotional strategies of the companies were assessed and recognized by the Mumbai based market analyst firm, Pronto Consult, whose managing director, Dr. Hari Natarajan, gave away the awards in the post-inaugural function of the event. He said, these awards, a partnership between Pronto Consult and Tamil Nadu IDMA, aimed to celebrate pharma brands that have truly resonated with doctors, patients, and chemists in the Tamil Nadu market, moving beyond traditional metrics like prescriptions and sales figures.

According to Dr Natarajan, these awards have really recognized the companies with headquarters in Tamil Nadu that demonstrated exceptional growth, innovation, doctor trust, regional presence, and long-term consistency. Awardees received a framed certificate and a trophy, a symbol of pride and recognition for their teams.

“The entire processes from identifying categories to the winner brands were carried out by Pronto Consult, using real market feedback, doctor perception data, and retail signals. Awardees received a framed certificate and a trophy, creating a moment of pride for their teams and reinforcing ‘Pharmac South’ as a platform that not only showcases brands but celebrates performance,” he commented.

As regards scoring of performances, he said, at the heart of the Brand Impact Awards there was the revolutionary PRISM Score (Pronto Integrated Stakeholder Metric), developed by Pronto Consult. This first-of-its-kind triangulated healthcare brand score offered a holistic view of a brand's impact by measuring perception, trust, experience, and future readiness across the three most influential voices in Indian healthcare, doctors who prescribe, chemists who dispense and influence choices, and patients who experience, evaluate, and recommend.

Talking about the importance of brand awards, Dr. Hari said, as the Indian pharmaceutical landscape becomes increasingly competitive and digitally driven, these awards provide a crucial lens to understand how branding meets behaviour and how perception shapes performance. The award represents a new playbook for brand building, one where trust, relevance, and perception are no longer soft metrics but strategic imperatives. The focus is now on brands that are not just growing, but are connecting, resonating and lasting, powered by the insightful PRISM score.
