Karnataka is working to garner the much-needed investments in pharma and healthcare from its flagship GIM (Global Investors Meet) 2025 positioned as Invest Karnataka. The three-day event from February 12 to 14, 2025 at Bengaluru will focus on sector-specific industrial parks to be set up in various locations to drive comprehensive industrial development across the state.

Minister for large and medium industries, MB Patil, pointed out that the Advanced Pharma Park at Srinivasapura in Kolar district aims to highlight Karnataka’s strategic advantages in fostering innovation, industrial growth, and global partnerships. It would also include new awards, start-up showcases, and industrial growth programmes.

Other than the Advanced Pharma Park in Srinivasapura, Kolar district, the other sector specific parks to be established at Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant in Vijayapura, Food Park in Vijayapura, Drone Park in Chitradurga, Deep-Tech Park at Jangamanakote, Mega Logistics Park at Hanumanthapur near Dabaspete and EV Clusters in Chikkaballapura and Dharwad districts.

According to Minister Patil, the state played a pivotal role in spearheading the Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation city will propel lifesciences education to be globally competitive. This is located between Doddaspete and Doddaballapur, which is roughly 60 kilometres from Bengaluru. This is being built in a total of 2,000 acres of land which is on the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR).
 
KWIN City initiative is ensuring Karnataka remains a global leader in advanced industries in pharma, biotech and healthcare. There have been several key initiatives such as strengthening academia-industry partnerships through strategic MoUs with leading global universities, including a recent collaboration with the University of Liverpool, he added.
 
The state now gears up to host one of the most influential investment summits in Asia, Invest Karnataka 2025 which is set to define the roadmap for the next decade of industrial and economic progress., stated Patil.

Featuring 75+ marquee speakers, 25+ technical sessions, 10+ country sessions, and SME Connect discussions, the event will provide insights into global economic trends, emerging technologies, and resilience strategies. Additionally, 19+ country partners will engage in investment dialogues, strengthening global supply chain networks and exploring trade opportunities. The summit will also host exclusive industry roundtables focusing on Renewable Energy, University Collaborations, and Healthcare Innovations, reinforcing Karnataka’s role in shaping the future of global industries.

Invest Karnataka 2025 has a power-packed agenda, featuring influential minds shaping industries worldwide. Highlights from key technical sessions include fireside chats on AI, Cybersecurity, and Government: Building Digital Resilience in an Uncertain World, Resilient Pathways: Charting India’s Economic Growth Amid Global Challenges, Pioneering the AI Frontier: From Moonshots to Real-World Impact , Thriving in Turbulence: How Nations Can Build Lasting Resilience and Innovating the Future. There will be panel discussion on leading the Charge: Young Innovators Shaping India’s Future.

Commenting on the announcement, of the Advanced Pharma Park, the state’s pharma industry was taken by surprise to note of such an infrastructure. They said that in 2021, Karnataka government has given top priority to set up the Kadechur-Badiyal Bulk Drug Park in Yadgir a northern backward district in the state. The park was implemented with the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP)’s assistance of around Rs. 100 crore. The industry also said that a pharma park was being planned under the MSME scheme and expected to come up at Nagamangala in Mandya district.
