With the first phase of Hyderabad Pharma City project inaugurated recently, the Telangana state government has decided to provide skill development training to the youth and aspiring candidates of all those families who have provided land to the Pharma City project and accordingly prepared a strategic road map to provide at least one lakh jobs to the youth from the local areas in the Asia’s biggest pharma project.

JayeshRanjan,principal secretary, Department of Industries and Information Technology, Government of Telangana along with Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation,managing director EV Narasimha Reddy and Telangana Life Sciences,director and CEO of BioAsia,ShakthiNagappan while taking part in a programme in Hyderabad provided offer letters to about 125 selected local candidates from the families who have provided land to the Pharma City project for skill development training.

While speaking on the occasion, JayeshRanjan said that the Pharma city project is a gigantic project taken up by the Telangana government to provide all kinds of facilities, such as academic research, manufacturing, training and enable exports of various pharma, biotechnology and healthcare related products and services to the world.

“Hyderabad PharmaCity project is being developed into Asia’s largest integrated and most advanced pharmaceutical hubs. The project which is spread over an extent of more than 19,000 acres of area on the outskirts of Hyderabad is being built in a phased manner. Initially the first phase which is taken up over 8000 acres has been completed and more than 150 pharma companies have applied for setting up their manufacturing units. All facilities like well structured roads, power lines, drains and effluent treatment plants have been constructed to facilitate the pharma companies to operate in a plug and play mode. As the first phase of the project has been taken up, the government has devised a plan to train the local youth by developing their skills and providing job opportunities to members of families who have provided land for the project and fulfilling its promise of providing jobs to the local youths. Initially we have provided offer letters to 125 candidates for training to develop their skills. In the subsequent phases, the government to select more candidates train them and place them in the Pharma City project,” informed JayeshRanjan.

Adding further, the principal secretary said that PharmaCity project if completed would provide more job opportunities and lakhs of youth can earn their living in this pharmaceutical industrial hub. To provide more jobs to the youth the state government has devised a long term strategy to train and develop the skills of the local youths and later on provide jobs to them to make a better living.
