CPhI India, IPC to reflect sweeping changes in Indian pharma industry

The largest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical industry event in South Asia, CPhI India, which is taking place from December 2 to 4, 2014, in Mumbai and the 66th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress being held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) from January 23 to 25, 2015, will reflect the sweeping changes taking place in the Indian pharma sector as well as the growing salience of Indian pharma industry on the global stage.
CPhI India (Convention on Pharmaceuticals Ingredients) which will be running concurrently with ICSE and P-MEC combines all major suppliers and customers in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing. As a one-stop-shop for all pharma, CPhI India brings pharma professionals from all over the world to Mumbai.
The event provides a platform to meet the movers and shakers in India’s pharma machinery, technology, ingredients, outsourcing and biopharma industry. With over 28,000 attendees, CPhI and P-MEC India is the largest pharmaceutical industry event in South Asia. This year also CPhI India looks to welcome 28,000 plus attendees and over 900 exhibitors from nearly 100 countries.
This year, CPhI and GBR have collaborated to produce the first comprehensive review of the pharma market, which examines how the country is playing a major role in the global pharmaceuticals industry. The full version of the report, India Pharmaceuticals 2014 Industry Explorations, will be released at CPhI India and will be distributed free of charge to all registered visitors and exhibitors both in India and other global CPhI events throughout 2015.
As India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and a leading supplier of generics globally, making CPhI India is the perfect place to keep up to date on the latest trends and innovations that the pharma market has to offer. At the same time, the three-day IPC convergence will be focussing on the theme ‘India-Pharmacy of the World and Role of Regulators and Pharma Industry.’ The IPC returns to Hyderabad after almost a decade.
The three-day scientific convention will host 52 symposiums and seminars and is likely to have 1,750 paper presentations from researchers and academicians. More than 22 foreign speakers will be deliberating on the issues pertaining to regulations and industry.
The conference will bring together government officials, eminent scientists, research scholars from all segments of the pharmaceutical industry to examine the healthcare needs of the patients and community.
An ‘International Regulators Meet’ (IRM) and CEOs conclave is also being organised for the first time in collaboration with Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil).
Regulators from across 20 countries and CEOs of top pharmaceutical companies will be deliberating on regulatory aspects, manufacturing of affordable quality generic drugs and issues pertaining to pharmaceutical industry in the country. Renowned technical and professionals will also be discussing issues related to academia and community pharmacy.
This time IPC is also organising an all India Pharma Quiz, where in the third and fourth year B. Pharmacy graduates will be taking part.
IPC will also witness a pharmaceutical exhibition wherein leading pharma industry players will be exhibiting their products, services and medical devices. The exhibition is being organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
