The 56th edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna concluded on a resounding high, reaffirming its undisputed status as the world’s premier trade show for the global cosmetics industry.

With over 255,000 beauty professionals from 150 countries and 3,128 companies representing over 10,000 brands from 65 countries, the event once again transformed Bologna into the world capital of beauty.

Key industry players returned to Bologna to explore new trends, seal business deals, and engage in meaningful exchanges. The exclusive Buyer Program by Cosmoprof, supported by smart networking and matchmaking tools, allowed professionals to optimize their presence at the event.

In addition, a diverse lineup of educational sessions, training workshops, live demonstrations, shows, and special initiatives elevated the experience for all attendees.

“We are extremely proud of the results of this edition,” said Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. “This has been a record-breaking Cosmoprof, once again proving to be an essential tool for industry growth."

Visitor numbers rose by 4.5% compared to last year, with a remarkable increase in international attendees. This success was driven by targeted buyer recruitment efforts and strong support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ITA ( Italian Trade Agency), which brought 80 international delegations to the show.

The exhibition space itself expanded by 5.8%, thanks to a new hall layout that welcomed emerging product categories in response to evolving market needs. With 29 country pavilions and 78% of exhibitors from abroad, Cosmoprof continued to cement its global leadership.

According to Matteo Zoppas, President of ITA, the cosmetic industry has emerged as a critical driver of Made in Italy exports.

“In 2023, cosmetic exports grew by over 20%, and in 2024, we’ve seen another 11.4% rise,” he noted. “With €8.4 billion in exports over 40% of the industry’s total revenue beauty is not just about glamour, but a stabilizing force for Italy’s national economy.”

For the 2025 edition, ITA facilitated the presence of 220 buyers, operators, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) from 80 countries, ensuring targeted demand that aligned with the goals of Italian entrepreneurs. The agency also backed Cosmoprof’s presence in high-growth regions across Asia, America, and Africa.

A strong partnership with Cosmetica Italia added further value to the event. Benedetto Lavino, President of Cosmetica Italia, emphasized the growing global stature of the Italian cosmetics industry:

“With a revenue of €16.5 billion and a trade surplus nearing €4.7 billion, Italy ranks as the second-largest cosmetic exporter in Europe and fourth worldwide."

He highlighted the importance of internationalization, innovation, and regulatory simplification in driving future growth, while also appreciating government involvement during the event—including interactions with Minister Adolfo Urso and Deputy Minister Valentino Valentini.

The Italian cosmetic sector employs over 400,000 professionals across its supply chain, reinforcing its role as a strategic and employment-generating industry.

Cosmoprof 2025 served as a launchpad for innovation, addressing the evolving preferences of informed, responsible consumers. From eco-friendly solutions to personalized beauty products, from wellness-centered innovations to the integration of AI and smart technologies, the exhibition highlighted the sector’s cutting-edge transformation.

“Cosmoprof continues to be a hub of inspiration and evolution,” said Enrico Zannini, General Manager of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. “We offered insights into emerging trends, technologies, and sustainable solutions that define the future of beauty.”

As the curtain falls on the 2025 edition, preparations are already underway for Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2026, scheduled for March 2026. With new initiatives on the horizon, the exhibition aims to further empower beauty professionals and accelerate global growth.
