The overall spending on promotion of PMBJP scheme in the last five financial years is around Rs. 33.27 crore, including Rs. 2.61 crore spend in 2016-17, Rs. 4.74 spend in the year 2017-18 and Rs. 6.60 crore spend in the year 2018-19, according to the ministry of chemicals and fertilisers.
Under the PMBJP implemented by the DoP, till the end of November, 2021, about 8,533 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) were set up and made functional across the country, covering all districts of the country.

“Floating tenders are issued regularly by PMBI as an ongoing process for required medicines to avoid any stock-out situation,” said minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya recently.
Interestingly, the Ministry of Ayush is also pushing the medicines under its systems to be sold through the PMBJPs, to offer these medicines at a lower cost to the public.
It has forwarded the Department of Pharmaceuticals, a list of twenty ayurvedic medicines for inclusion in the product basket of PMBJP. This include certain pack sizes of Arjunarishta (Parthadyarishta), Drakashasava and Kurnarlysava under Arishta segment, Chyawanprash, Haridrakhand and Puga Khand (Supari Pak) under Avleha, Gokshuradi Guggulu and Yogaraj Guggulu under Guggulu, Triphala Churna (Haritaki+bibhitaki+amalaki), Avipattikara Churna, Hingavashtaka Churna, Sitopaladi Churrta, Arjuna Churna, Ashwagandha Churna and Amalaki (Amla) Churna under Churna category and Lashunadi Vatican and Punarnavadi Mandura under Gutika category.
