Applications invited for Pharmexcil Awards for outstanding export performance in FY 2023–24

The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has invited applications for the Outstanding Export Performance Awards for the financial year 2023–24. These prestigious awards aim to recognize the exemplary efforts of Indian pharmaceutical exporters contributing significantly to the sector's growth and global recognition.
Last Date for Submission of the application is July 31, 2025. Interested member companies have been urged to self-nominate themselves with supporting documents (Audited Balance sheets of the years 2021-22, 2022-23 & 2023-24) along with the dully filled in prescribed application format.
Since its inception in 2009, Pharmexcil has been celebrating export excellence by conferring these awards annually. The previous edition acknowledged achievements for the year 2022–23. Continuing this tradition, the Council now invites eligible member exporters to submit their applications for the FY 2023–24 awards.
Pharma exports stood at USD 30.47 billion in FY 2024-25. In fiscal year 2023-24, India's pharmaceutical exports reached USD 27.9 billion, marking a 9.67% increase compared to the previous year.
Exports of drugs and pharmaceuticals from the country registered around 5.2 per cent growth in the first three months of the fiscal year, from April to June, 2025, while imports reported a growth of 4.1 per cent, compared to the corresponding quarter of previous year.
The exports during the three months stood at USD 7.58 billion, as against USD 7.2 billion in the same period of previous fiscal year. Imports, on the other hand, reported a growth to USD 2.24 billion during the three months, as compared to USD 2.15 billion in the same period of previous fiscal year, according to preliminary data from the ministry of commerce and industry.
Pharmexcil will confer awards across the following categories to recognize excellence and leadership in specific domains of pharmaceutical exports like all round export performance, API/bulk drugs, formulations, excipients, bio-pharma, veterinary, surgicals, contract research & manufacturing and merchant exporter.
Multiple layer of Gradation may be considered in categories depending on the number of nominations received.
Special Awards have also been announced in the following categories:
Women Entrepreneur Award: Applications are invited from companies in which women has substantial share almost nearing half and heading it. They may also need employ women in other key posts like international marketing, HR, production etc.
SME Export Award: Companies having their own manufacturing facility and with export turnover of Rs. 250 crore and below in the year 2023-24 are eligible for submitting the applications for the said Award.
To encourage smaller entrepreneurs, it is proposed to give awards for companies with 100 crore and below award in the categories bulk drug & drug intermediates and formulations & biological (one in each category).
Export Startup Award: Manufacturing (bulk drugs & drug intermediates, drug formulations & biologicals, surgicals coming under Pharmexcil Panel) Member companies, certified by Department of Promotion of Industry & Internal trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry of Government of India, as a startup Enterprise & with three years of Exports (2021-22, 2022-23 & 2023-24) are eligible for self-nomination in this category. Kindly note the certificate issued by DPIIT should be Valid in the three years ending 2023-24. The applicant has to submit a “Certificate of Recognition” issued by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). See Foot Note.

Hard Copy Submission: A printed copy of the application should be sent to Pharmexcil head office, Hyderabad.
