Maharashtra FDA has till date granted 3,83,149 manufacturing as well as
sale licenses across the state based on 3,98,402 applications made
online by the manufacturers and traders through its online platform
called extended licensing node (XLN) system.
The system has been
able to simplify the process of granting certificates and licenses.
Issuance of licenses related to loan licences, test licences,
certificates, additional products and renewals today is accomplished
through XLN system in a seamless and user-friendly manner.
Apart
from renewal of licenses and licenses for additional products,
applications for licenses also include certificates required for exports
and others like free sale certificate, no conviction certificate,
capacity certificate, general GMP certificate, GLP certificate and
market standing certificate.
The online system is a boon for over
3,347 existing manufacturing units across the state as it provides
online approvals for around six certificates required by pharma
manufacturing units in the state. Online renewal of licenses,
licences for additional products, performance certificate and free sale
licences among others are other important attributes of the online
system. Procedures now happen in a paperless and seamless manner which
has considerably brought down the time taken to as minimum as 15 days.
Online
system was set up after conducting training programme in all the seven
divisions in consultation with National Informatics Centre (NIC) to
sensitise officials about the new online system.
The online
platform which is aimed at speeding up issuance of licences and
certificates in the state makes for a user-friendly online service
offering other licences and certificates. Ever since it was launched in
April, 2014, the system has led to drastic improvement in terms of
processing of renewal of licenses and granting of certificates with less
bureaucratic hassles.
