NPPA fixes and revises prices of 18 formulation packs

The national drug price regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing
Authority (NPPA) has fixed/revised the prices in respect of 18
formulation packs both ceiling and retail price packs under Drug Price
Control Order (DPCO), 2013.
In a notification dated August 24,
2015, the NPPA has fixed/revised the formulations based on bulk drugs
like diclofenac sodium (Superspas – AQ), ilaprazole + domperidone
(Chekcid-D SR), albendazole + ivermectin (Albekem Plus), clotrimazole,
mesalamine, paracetamol infusion, paracetamol + tramadol HCl
(Dolinsta-P), omeprazole + domperidone (Ulcure D), telmisartan +
amlodipine(RPTEL-AM), chlorthalidone + metoprolol, vancomycin (Vanking),
and diclofenac diethylamine (Diclofenac Transdermal).
The list
also includes formulations based on bulk drugs like oxetacaine+aluminium
hydroxide+magnesium hydroxide (Pantop OX) and activated
dimethicone+magnesium hydroxide+dried aluminium
hydroxide+sorbitol(Pantop MPS), oxetacaine +aluminium hydroxide +
magnesium hydroxide (Delcid O), fluconazole + sodium chloride,
pregabalin+mecobalamin+vitamin B6+folic acid+benfotiamine (Meganeuron
PG/ Gabamax Gold), glimepiride + metformin (Zoryl M 0.5 Forte), and
corrigendum with regard to notification S.O. No. 619(E) dated February
26,.2015 relating to the ceiling price fixation of paclitaxel injection,
30mg/5ml.
In case the retail price of aforesaid formulation is
not complied as per instant price notification and notes specified
hereinabove, then the concerned manufacturer/marketing company shall be
liable to deposit the overcharged amount along with the interest thereon
under the provisions of the DPCO, 2013 read with the Essential
Commodities Act, 1955, the NPPA in its notification warned.
