Pharmexcil seeks participation of cos for business delegation to 39th Havana International Fair in Cuba

The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has sought active participation of member pharma companies for business delegation to 39th Havana International Fair - FIHAV in Havana, Cuba between November 6 and 11, 2023.
FIHAV is one of the prestigious International Fairs held regularly in Havana (Cuba) since 1983 which gives an excellent opportunity for widening business and trade with Cuba and Caribbean countries. Cuba and Caribbean market provides untapped opportunity to Indian Exporters in the region and the event is an excellent business platform for new companies to enter the region.
Pharmexcil in association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) with the support of the Union ministry of commerce and industry, Embassy of India in Havana, Cuba is also planning to organize India Pavilion at the 39th Edition of FIHAV 2023 (International Fair of Havana).
“India-Cuba relations have been traditionally warm and friendly and both countries have maintained close contacts with each other in various international fora, such as the UN, NAM, WTO, etc. Bilateral trade between India and Cuba has shown growth in recent years. India’s export to Cuba reached USD 79.04 million in 2022-23 with growth of 197.48%. There exists a huge potential for Indian companies in the pharmaceutical, API, biotechnology and vaccine space,” informed Udaya Bhaskar, director general (DG), Pharmexcil.
In the previous editions, FIHAV has witnessed more than 5,500 foreign exhibitors from 60 countries, 25 official delegations of various countries and 85 Chambers of Commerce and Trade and Investment Promotion Organisations with around 1,50,000 visitors.
For the first time, as part of FIHAV -2023, there will be a pavilion for Cubans residing abroad and promotional activities for Cuban exportable funds will also be carried out, that will include the productions and services of the forms of state, non-state management and the productive poles.
A wide international commercial sample will characterize the meeting that will also host the sixth Investment Forum, an opportunity for bilateral meetings between Cuban and foreign businessmen, potential foreign investors and to share ideas.
