Nutraceuticals industry is one of the rapidly growing sectors in the Asia- Pacific region.

The industry, broadly classified into functional food, functional beverages and dietary supplements, has witnessed a double digit growth in recent years specially driven by countries like India and China. In India itself,  the industry is expected to be worth US$6.1 billion by the year 2019-2020 as per latest reports by research agency RNCOS.

Currently though the industry constitutes US$2.2 billion, it is going through constant shift in increased sales of nutraceutical products and changing consumer buying pattern due to consciousness towards health. Anticipated to grow at a CAGR of around 20% over 2014-2019, the drivers of this growth  can be credited to increase in the ageing population worldwide, health and wellness awareness amongst the people.

Since last 10 years, giving a boost to this already flourishing nutraceuticals industry is the event Nutra India Summit (NIS). This nutraceutical exhibition is dedicated to both ingredients and finished products and is a flagship exhibition  in this field for India.

For the current year, the event featuring nutraceuticals, nutritionals, functional foods, and dietary supplements sectors of India and the global market would be held on March 18 and 19, 2015, at The Lalit, Mumbai.

With its more than a decade of contribution towards development of building blocks of nutraceuticals business, the event would be celebrating its 10th edition in the current year.

Singh informed, “Nutra India Summit has invited more than 15 countries to participate and special invitation to all SAARC nations to send their representatives to industry and science fraternity to be a part of the event. Nutraceuticals for The European Market (NEM) will be special attraction where we have invited companies from NEM to participate and which will offer business opportunities for Indian nutra players to connect during the conference and expo.”

NuFFooDS Expo

With Mumbai as prime market, this show will also be organised in other tier two cities to create awareness and offer equal participation opportunities for industry to take advantage of such platform.”

Concurrent Event - EHEDG - European Hygienic Engineering and Design India Region Chapter
EHEDG, the Indian chapter, is initiated to raise the awareness and analyse the hygienic design equipment, machinery, facilities as well as related hygienic production process in the manufacturing processes. It will promote the creation of regional and international network in order to identify the knowledge gaps and problems in hygienic engineering and to provide adequate solutions related to hygienic equipment and food safety especially for small-scale industries.

The event, to be held for the first time in India, will represent the EHEDG activities from Europe, a worldwide operating reference organisations in this field: guideline publication, working groups, certification, possibilities and so on.
