Ayush and herbal products export stays at $43.6 million in November, 2025

Exports of Ayush and herbal products for the month of November, 2025, stood stagnant at $43.6 million compared to $43.5 million registered in the same month of previous fiscal year. This is following a decline of 33% reported in the month of October, on a Year-over-Year (YoY) basis.
The decline in value terms during the month is despite a 14.24% growth in quantity of exports at 9,332.4 MT during November, 2025, compared to 8,169.4 MT during the same month a year ago.
In rupee terms, exports reported a growth of 5.55% in during the month, at Rs. 387.25 crore, as compared to Rs. 366.87 crore registered in November, 2024, according to data from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S).
Cumulative exports during the first eight months of the fiscal year witnessed a decline of 7.07% at $419.5 million as compared to $451.4 million registered in the same period a year ago.
In rupee terms, the cumulative exports from April to November, 2025 witnessed a decline of 3.64% at Rs. 3,641.7 crore, as compared to Rs. 3,779.5 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.
In terms of quantity, decline during the eight months was around 1.54% at 79,307.8 MT as against 80,551.6 MT during the same period last year.
Imports of Ayush and herbal products during the month of November grew 27% to $15.06 million from $11.85 million on a YoY basis. In rupee terms, this was a 33.7% growth at Rs. 133.75 crore as against Rs. 100.02 crore in the same month of last year.
Quantity of imports grew by 4.62% at 10,189.7 MT compared to 9,739.8 MT during the corresponding month last year.
Imports for the first eight months of the fiscal year 2025-26 has reported a growth of 42.48% at $138.22 million YoY as compared to $97.01 million a year ago.
In rupee terms, the growth was 48% at Rs. 1,202 crore as against Rs. 812.6 crore registered in the same period of last year. In terms of quantity, the growth was 23.2% at 78707 MT as against 63886 MT reported last year.
As reported earlier, exports reported a decline of 3.3% during the first half of the fiscal year 2025-26, at $334.01 million compared to $345.33 million during the corresponding period of previous fiscal year.
Ayush and herbal products exports reported a growth of 3.6 per cent during the fiscal year 2023-24, at $651.17 million as compared to the same period of previous year. During 2022-23, the exports were $628.54 million. The year 2022-23 registered a growth of 2.68 per cent in exports, from $612.12 million in the previous year.
The Ministry of Ayush has established Ayush Export Promotion Council (Ayushexcil) to promote Ayush products and services globally by the Ministry of Ayush and supported by the Union ministry of commerce. It was officially launched at Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on April 20, 2022, and aimed to oversee exports of products of Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Sowa/Rigpa and Unani systems and address trade issues pertaining to these sectors.
